Delaware Lottery to Launch Bonus Play Games Wednesday

The Delaware Lottery will take the first step towards launching online casino games Wednesday morning.  According to the Delaware Newszap, free play online casino games will launch on Facebook at 6am on August 28th.  Delaware’s three casinos, Dover Downs, Harrington Raceway and Delaware Park, will link to a branded DoubleDown Casino Facebook app.  DoubleDown is owned by IGT, the company that distributes video poker and slot machines for Delaware casinos, but was not selected as the primary interactive vendor.

Free play games will be available to players throughout the world.  Real money games will only be available to players located in Delaware at the time of  login.

Scientific Games and 888 have partnered to provide real money games as Delaware’s primary vendor.  Real money gambling is expected to be live in about two months.  If the real money platform launches when expected then Delaware would become the second state with live real money online gambling.  It would be the first with online casino games as Nevada has only legalized online poker.

New Jersey hopes to have online gambling live on November 26, 2013.  It has yet to approve any licensees.  A total of 37 companies have applied.
