Full Tilt to Expand to Casino Gaming
In a story first reported on by onlinepokerreport.com, the Rational Group is looking to rebrand Full Tilt Poker and expand the brand into casino gaming. According to a press release issued by The Rational Group:
The Rational Group intends to expand our product offering to include casino style games on Full Tilt Poker. While adding new games, we remain committed to building our leadership in poker with PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker and continuing to deliver the highest quality poker experience to players.
These new games on Full Tilt will provide more gaming options with the same high quality player experience, integrity, security, safety and support that players have come to expect from our brands. PokerStars will continue to offer a Poker-only experience.
Further details have not been released about the proposed changes or even what the new company will be called. Some have speculated that the new company will be called “Full Tilt Gaming” but that has not been confirmed at present.
The rebranding of Full Tilt will give PokerStars another tool as they look to enter not just the online casino market, but also the US market. Staying strictly poker will hinder should other states decide to offer casino games in addition to online poker.
The expansion of Full Tilt into casino gaming will also help to differentiate the company from PokerStars and should help to boost numbers. While still one of the top poker sites in the world, number for Full Tilt have not been what some had expected once PokerStars took over the company.
PokerStars purchased Full Tilt as part of their settlement with the United States Department of Justice for charges related to Black Friday. Full Tilt currently operates as a separate entity under the PokerStars umbrella with much of the same look and feel of the old Full Tilt, but managed by the Rational Group.
