Pala Poker Is Doubling The Number Of Daily Online Poker Tournaments It Offers

Contents
Among the new additions are a number of lower price-point events. The number of poker tournaments Pala offers under $5 will increase from one (a single $1 tournament with a $100 guarantee) to eight, including four daily tournaments with a $.50 buy-in and a $50 guarantee.
Once the changes go into effect, Pala Poker players will be able to choose from 14 daily tournaments every single day, a 100 percent increase over the site’s current daily tournament schedule.
Launched in June, Pala is the newest entry in the already crowded New Jersey online poker market.
The launch of online poker had less to do with generating revenue and more to do with field-testing its proprietary software. That said, Pala is still trying to find its footing in the rough and tumble New Jersey online poker market.
Guaranteed prize-money decreases
The new schedule not only increases the number of tournaments the site hosts, it also “corrects” the site’s tournament guarantees. Currently tournament guarantees are responsible for Pala giving away a lot of money in overlays.
With that in mind, even though it’s doubling the number of daily tournaments it’s offering, Pala is reducing the total amount of guaranteed prize-money it’s giving away.
Under the old schedule, Pala hosted seven daily tournaments with a total guaranteed prize-pool of $1,700. The new 14-tournament schedule will guarantee $1,600.
So, with cash game traffic measuring in the single digits outside of peak hours, and it’s guaranteed tournaments offering sizable overlays, Pala’s new tournament schedule seems like an effort to self-correct, and adjust to the reality of the tepid New Jersey online poker market.
