PokerStars Bounty Builder Series Launches in Pennsylvania and New Jersey
Adding some extra punch to its momentum in Pennsylvania, PokerStars is now bringing its popular Bounty Builder Series to the US. For the first time, players in the Keystone State and New Jersey can battle it out in this knockout format from Feb. 20 to March 1.
In Pennsylvania, the FOX Bet and PokerStars series will feature a $500,000 guarantee. That includes 32 progressive knockout (PKO) events, with the $300 buy-in Main Event on March 1 guaranteeing $100,000.
The series will also take place in New Jersey over the same dates with a $300,000 guarantee.

A look at the PokerStars US Bounty Builder Series
PokerStars has seen a major push in Pennsylvania and remains the only online poker operator in the state so far. This marks an added event in the state and also carries over to New Jersey as well.
A bounty tournament offers some added fun for players. With a bounty on everyone who takes part, players can win cash with each opponent they eliminate.
There’s a twist with the PKO format however. The winner doesn’t keep all the bounty – 50% is added to his own bounty. That means they progressively become a bigger target, with that bounty growing in value.
The two Bounty Builder series mirror each other in both states in events and dates. Buy-ins range from $10 to $750 and satellites start at $1 for numerous events.
With a larger pool of players, however, the guarantees are larger in Pennsylvania. For example, the $100 Kick-Off features a $20,000 guarantee in Pennsylvania and only $12,000 in New Jersey.
Some highlights on the PokerStars schedule
With a big slate of events, there should be something for every budget in the Bounty Builder Series. Here are a few highlights:
- Feb. 23, $200 Sunday Special – guarantees of $50,000 (PA) and $30,000 (NJ)
- Feb 25, $750 High Roller – guarantees of $35,000 (PA) and $20,000 (NJ)
- Feb 27, $200 Thursday Thrill – guarantees of $25,000 (PA) and $10,000 (NJ)
- March 1, $300 buy-in Main Event – guarantees of $100,000 (PA) and $75,000 (NJ)
There are even tournaments for those with smaller bankrolls. For example, the $50 Mini Main Event features guarantees of $25,000 (PA) and $12,000 (NJ). There are even a few $10 events on the schedule with nice guarantees.
Most events on the schedule are No Limit Hold’em tournaments, but Omaha fans will find a couple to suit them. On Feb. 24, a $100 PLO event features an $8,000 guarantee in Pennsylvania – $5,000 in New Jersey. Two days later, check out the $100 No Limit Omaha Hi/Lo with guarantees of $8,000 (PA) and $4,000 (NJ).
There will be satellite events throughout the series. Players can win their way into numerous events in the following ways:

- $3 Spin & Go’s
- Depositor Freeroll – Giving away Main Event tickets, $9,000 in Pennsylvania and $6,000 in New Jersey.
