PokerStars Mobile App Now Available in US

PokerStars now allows US players to access the PokerStars.net Mobile Application.  Players located in the US may now participate in play money games on any mobile device.  Ring games, tournaments and the fast poker product Zoom Poker are now available.  The app may be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store, Amazon Appstore and on Google Play.

US players will still not have access to real money tables but this is a clear attempt to get US players reacquainted with the PokerStars brand ahead of the US regulated online poker market.  PokerStars has the Atlantic Club casino in Atlantic City under contract and is also one of 14 companies that applied to participate in the Delaware Lottery’s online gambling market.

Should either of these states or others allow PokerStars to operate in their regulated market then players may be able to play real money online poker through the mobile app in their state.  It is very unlikely that those players would be able to ever play on the main Pokerstars.com mobile app, although the app could be offered for real money in ring fenced US markets.

The PokerStars.net app will be different than ones offered by social media companies such as Zynga.  PokerStars will not offer any of the revenue generating sources social media companies offer.  The PokerStars.net app is solely for playing free games.
