Pokerstars New Jersey Championship of Online Poker Returns in October
Pokerstars New Jersey’s flagship event, the New Jersey Championship of Online Poker, returns for Garden State players in October. From September 30 until October 17, players will have 46 unique tournaments to try to earn their share of $1.2 million dollars in guaranteed prize pools.
The main event for this tournament is a $500 buy-in with two Day 1 flights and a $200,000 guarantee. This premier tournament kicks off on October 14th at 5 PM ET.
There will be numerous satellites that will allow players to punch their tickets to the big dance. However, one of the more intriguing options for qualifying will be the NJCOOP Spin and Go tournaments.
For a mere $4, players can pick up their main event seats in minutes. Players can even pick up multiple seats that can be exchanged for $500 in tournament dollars.
Second chance freerolls will ease the sting
In every tournament, most people end up losing. It’s a sad fact, but PokerStars is helping players recover and recoup some of their losses by introducing the Second Chance Freeroll.
Every player that plays a NJCOOP tournament will receive a ticket to a special freeroll. Depending on the day of the original tournament, players can play for tournament tickets that total at least $1500.
Some of these tickets are even entries to the $500 Main Event. So, take heart if you bust out early – you may just be gearing up for a bigger score.
There is a poker tournament for everyone in this series
The NJCOOP has a wide variety of buy-ins available for players. Buy-ins range from $25 to the $1000 High Roller event. No tournament guarantees less than $10,000 in its prize pool.
Players also have many options for the type of poker they prefer. In addition to no-limit hold’em, players can play limit hold’em, three different styles of Omaha (pot-limit, hi/lo, and 5-card), Triple Stud, mixed NLHE/PLO, and an 8-game rotation event.
Obviously, most of the tournaments are no-limit hold’em events. However, even within NLHE’s dominance of the events, each event bears its own unique twist.
Players can play turbos, hyper turbos, rebuy tournaments, big stacks and deep stacks. There are even seat-limited events like 6-max, 8-max, and heads-up.
All in all, this tournament promises players 46 great opportunities to make a sizeable score. New Jersey players would be wise to circle their calendars for these dates.
