Tropicana Opens Registration for New Jersey iGaming Soft Launch
The Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City now accepting registrations for their “Pre-Opening Event”, also known as New Jersey iGaming’s soft launch. Players wishing to test the Tropicana’s online iGaming platform can head over to tropicana.net and provide their details.
Selected participants will be able to download Tropicana’s iGaming platform and play for real money from November 21st to November 25th. If testing goes well, iGaming will open to the general public on November 26th.
As part of the soft launch promotion, users will be entered to iPad. Participants must be at least 21 years of age and must be physically located in New Jersey.
Please not that the registration process does not appear to incorporate any Geolocation or any type of filter for non-Jersey residents. This reporter was actually able to sign-up for the pre-launch event from Virginia. One is to assume that registrations will be manually reviewed prior to invitations being issued.
The Tropicana is not the only casino already working on their soft launch player pool. According to Pokerfuse, the Golden Nugget has began to contact select players to participate in the soft launch. In addition, the free play website will be migrated to a .net site.
At present, it appears that only five casinos will make the November 21st soft launch date. The four casinos connected with Caesars have yet to receive regulatory approval and it is unknown whether Resorts’ partner PokerStars will receive a license at all. Revel and the Atlantic Club both revealed recently that they will not participate in iGaming at this time.
