Summer for Seniors: $1.5M Guaranteed for 50 & Over Players in Las Vegas Summer Poker Tournaments
Senior events in Las Vegas continue to be some of the most popular poker tournaments during the World Series of Poker. That should continue this summer as well.
A majority of senior events are eligible for players over 50 years old. It has been almost 20 years since the Moneymaker poker boom started. Many of the original 30-year-olds from that time period are now hitting their 50s and large player pools are growing each year in these events.

World Series of Poker
The WSOP will be located on the Strip this year at the Bally’s and Paris casinos. The series will host two seniors events, both of which are extremely popular each year. This includes a “super seniors” event for players 60 years or older.
“The record-smashing Seniors No Limit Hold’em Championship will return for the second year, with players allowed one optional re-entry per flight,” according to a WSOP news release.
Even though there is no guarantee in these events, they still produce huge numbers. In 2021, Robert McMillian took home the seniors championship bracelet and $561,060.
Here’s a look at the 2022 WSOP seniors action:
- $1,000 Seniors Championship, 50+ – June 22 (five-day event)
- $1,000 Super Seniors, 60+ – June 28 (four-day event)
Venetian DeepStack Series
Down the Strip, the Venetian hosts three senior events as well. These events will be spread out over the series. All three tournaments come with a guarantee and are for players 50 years or older.
On June 24, the property is throwing up the biggest guarantee for seniors in Las Vegas with $1 million up for grabs. Here’s a glance at the Venetian senior series:
- $400 Senior Monster Stack, 50+ – May 8, $20,000 guaranteed
- $1,100 NLHE Seniors, 50+ – June 24 (three-day event), $1 million guaranteed
- $800 Super Seniors, 60+ – June 29 (two-day event), $75,000 guaranteed
Wynn Summer Classic
Wynn will be running the property’s popular series again this summer. That includes two senior events in June. Here’s a peek at those events:
- $550 NLHE Seniors, 50+ – June 3, $50,000 guaranteed
- $1,100 Seniors Championship, 50+ – June 20 (two-day event), $50,000 guaranteed
Players also have a chance to win some unique trophies for taking down these events.
Golden Nugget Grand Poker Series
On Fremont Street, the Golden Nugget remains the only casino housing a poker room in downtown Vegas. The classic casino runs the Grand Poker Series again beginning May 31.
During the series, the Nugget hosts the following one-day events:
- $400 NLHE Seniors, 50+ – June 24, $100,000 guaranteed
- $400 Super Seniors, 60+ – June 29, $50,000 guaranteed
- $600 Seniors Championship, 50+ – June 30, $50,000 guaranteed
Aria Poker Classic
This luxurious casino and hotel is known for high buy-in events, but this summer some lower-priced tournaments are on tap. That includes a couple of nice events for seniors:
- $600 NLHE Seniors, 50+ – June 21, $100,000 guaranteed
- $600 NLHE Seniors, 50+ – June 26, $100,000 guaranteed
Orleans Summer Open
Off the Strip, the Orleans hosts a senior championship event. Currently, there is no guarantee listed but players can expect to see a big turnout for this tournament.
