Atari to Enter the iGaming Market

Some of you will be able to gamble $2,600 with Atari in the near future. As reported by CardPlayer, Atari will join forces with Pariplay to offer real money online gambling products.

Those of you that grew up in the 1970’s and 1980’s will remember Atari as the premier video game maker. The Atari 2600 was the premier home gaming console during the 80’s and paved the way for Nintendo, Sega, Xbox and the rest. Titles ranging from Pong to Donkey Kong and even Mario Brother were available on Atari.

The partnership between the two companies will see Pariplay offer Atari branded products on their network. This includes social online products, iLottery and mobile platforms.

According to Pariplay CEO Gili Lisani, “Atari was a pioneer in the interactive entertainment space, having built tremendous brand equity through their rich suite of beloved brands. We are proud to steward their entry into the evolving iGaming category where players can engage with their properties in exciting new ways.”

The latest move by the company is seen as a way for the company to rebrand itself following its filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last year. Atari CEO Fred Chesnais commented on the new venture, stating, “Pariplay’s expertise in the real money gambling category coupled with their solid back-end architecture makes them an ideal partner. This initiative, coupled with our recent FlowPlay social casino announcement, supports our broader vision to expand Atari’s legacy properties outside of the gaming field.”

The fun is back, oh yes sir-y, gamble $2,600 with Atari.
