Delaware Releases March 2014 Internet Gaming Results

The Delaware Lottery released the results for March 2014 internet gaming. Poker rake came in at $84,391, up 12.3 percent from February. Casino games posted $122,441 in revenue, up 32.4 percent from February.  A majority of this gain came from Delaware Park where its casino revenue increased from $26,061 in February to $66,483 in March. Dover Downs and Harrington posted slight declines in casino revenue.

March was the peak for casino games since online gambling launched in Delaware in November 2013. Poker peaked in December 2013 at $106,922.

Operators have yet to profit from online gambling in Delaware. The state takes 100 percent of the first $3.5 million in annual revenue. This leaves little motivation for the racinos to market the activity. Harrington is the only site with prominent advertising for its online gaming product on its website. Delaware Park and Dover Down have an option in the main menu among other website features.
