Big Weekend Closes Out COOP Series; Main Events On Tap With Almost $500K Guaranteed
This is the final weekend of the PokerStars Championship of Online Poker (COOP) for players in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Michigan. That means the two-day $300 Main Event kicks off on Sunday in each state.
With three championships, PokerStars is guaranteeing almost $500,000 among the three states. The series marked the first time the COOP series have run concurrently in each state. The schedule brought players 65 events with a total of $4.5 million across the three states. Here’s a look at the weekend’s action.
Main Events on tap this weekend at PokerStars
The Pennsylvania (PACOOP) and Michigan (MICOOP) series featured the biggest overall guarantees ever for a COOP in either state. That included $2 million in PA and $1.5 million in Michigan with NJCOOP also promising a $1 million guarantee.
This weekend promises more action with the Main Event highlighting the schedule. Here’s a look at the championship guarantees in each state:
- PACOOP – $200,000
- MICOOP – $150,000
- NJCOOP – $100,000
Those aren’t the only tournaments players have to look forward to. Other options include the Mini Main Event in each state as well as high rollers, hyper turbos, mixed game events, and more.
Special promotions continue running
Players looking to earn a spot in the Main Event at a lower buy-in level still have some options. PokerStars offers several promotions throughout the weekend to reward players.
The site is running $3 Spin and Go’s where players can win $300 COOP Main Event tickets.The events run through Sunday and also award cash prizes for those who don’t score a tournament seat.
Additionally, new players receive a free ticket to the Main Event Depositor Freeroll, which is set for Sept. 26. Existing customers who deposit $30 or more can also earn a ticket into the event. The tournament awards the top 50 players with Main Event entries.
