Small Wonder, Delaware Online Poker Revenue Hits Six Month High In February
The Delaware Lottery posted its best poker numbers in February since August. The state’s three regulated poker sites posted rake of $32,626. That was up 25 percent from January.
The numbers for the casino action in February was very unusual. Table games won $85,457 during the short month. This was on a handle of $2.81 million. That is a 3 percent hold.
Delaware only offers blackjack and roulette. Blackjack has a hold of about 0.5 percent, while its single zero roulette has a house edge of 2.75 percent. Table game bettors ran very poorly in February. The table game handle was down 38 percent from January.
Video poker and slots won $23,117 during February. This was down 38 percent from January. The handle was $726,540, up 33 percent from the previous month. Delaware casino sites held 3.1 percent of the slot and video poker action.
WSOP.com player pooling should boost March numbers
The poker numbers for March should be up against February’s numbers for a different reason than it has more days.
On March 24, Delaware and Nevada combined player pools.
Delaware’s three racinos now have access to WSOP.com in Nevada. This gives Delaware players 25 times the cash game action they had before, according to stats published by PokerScout. It also gives Delaware players access to sit and gos that were never available before and substantially larger multi table tournaments.
The true impact of the liquidity sharing agreement between Delaware and Nevada will not be known until the April numbers come out. Those will not be available until the first week of June.
