GTECH and MGM Resorts Partner for Nevada Sports and Casino App

GTECH and MGM Resorts have teamed up to offer Nevada players a sports betting app.  The mobile platform will be available starting this summer, pending approval by regulators.

Players will be able to create accounts and handle banking at 12 MGM Resorts casinos in Nevada.   The sports betting app will work anywhere inside the state.

The rollout of the new product will also create a new service offered by MGM sports books.  Live in-play betting will be available on the mobile app.  This will allow players to place wagers on games that are in progress.

GTECH will provide a casino app at 10 Nevada properties owned by MGM Resorts.  This platform will allow players to make bets on games banked by the house.  The casino app will only operate for real money when a player is located on MGM property.

Players will be able to access the products through a mobile phone or tablet.  Both offerings will be spread under a single app that will be linked to the player’s M Life rewards card.

MGM will become the first Las Vegas Strip resort owner to enter the mobile betting business.  All companies currently in the business operate locals casinos or lease space from resorts.

Five mobile sports betting platforms currently exist in Nevada.  William Hill, CG Technology (formerly Cantor Gaming), Station Casinos, NV Sports Books (South Point), and Boyd Gaming currently operate mobile sports betting for real money in the state.  CG Technology also offers casino games on the premises of its partner casinos.
