The 46th annual World Series of Poker schedule was announced today. There were a few surprises. The biggest may be that there will be a $1,000 No Limit Hold’em event that will be held at WSOP.com Nevada. This will be the first ever online WSOP bracelet event.
The online tournament will be held at noon on July 2, 2015. There will not be a live event held at that time. Players will be able to play from the Rio Convention Center, their hotel room, home, or anywhere else within Nevada.
In 2014, WSOP.com ran satellites to many live events that were held at Rio but did not spread any actual bracelet tournaments.
The most anticipated event may be The Colossus $5 million guaranteed. The buyin for this tournament is $565. It is a five-day event that has four day-one flights. These occur at 10am and 6pm on May 29 and May 30. Busted players may reenter the event in later flights.
On July 3, there is a $777 Lucky 7’s tournament. This has two flights; 10am and 6pm. There is a $10,000 six-handed Dealer’s Choice that spreads a possible 19 games.
There will be two events available to seniors. Event #40 is available to players 50 years of age and older. Players must be at least 65 years of age for the Super Seniors event, which is Event #43. Both have a $1,000 buyin.
The Ladies Event is using the same discouraging term that it did last year in the hopes that it can keep men out. The event is posted with a $10,000 buyin, but women will receive a $9,000 discount, making the buyin its standard $1,000.
Draft Kings is the sponsor of a $1,500 event. This one pays 50 percent of the field.
In all, there are 68 bracelet events scheduled for 2015. It all begins at noon on May 27 with the $565 Casino Employee’s event. The $10,000 Main Event starts noon on July 5. Players may also enter on July 6 or July 7 for the Main Event. Those start times are also noon.
The Main Event will pay at least 1,000 players and pay $1 million to all final table participants.
