MGM Launches New Jersey Online Poker and Casino Sites With Competitive Bonuses

MGM bought out partner Boyd Gaming’s 50 percent interest in the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in 2016. The company immediately expressed an interest in expanding its existing New Jersey online gambling portfolio to include MGM branded sites.
Of course, Borgata is already licensed to conduct internet gaming operations by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement and hosts a number of online casino and poker sites under its license.

In May 2017, MGM announced it would be launching playMGM branded online poker and casino sites under Borgata’s internet gaming operator’s license by the end of the calendar year.
The playMGM soft launch
A five-day soft launch of the sites began August 1, 2017, bringing with it one of the most generous welcome bonus packages in the New Jersey online gambling market.

- $15 in Tournament Dollars

Software by GVC Holdings
As announced in May, both sites have launched with software provided by longtime Borgata partner GVC Holdings Inc.
In fact, the playMGM-branded online poker site will be a part of the Borgata / NJ partypoker network. This means sharing player liquidity with the existing Borgata Poker and NJ partypoker sites. The only difference for playMGM is the branding, promotions and overall look of the site.
The playMGM New Jersey online casino site launches with over 200 online slots and popular online casino games including:

- Roulette
- Blackjack
- Craps
- Bingo
The sites are available through tradition desktop browsers as well as mobile apps for iOS and Android users.
Plus, the playMGMpoker and playMGM casino sites are launching with a number of unique promotions, including its own player loyalty program and the chance to win a trip to Las Vegas.
Living off the strength of the Borgata brand, Borgata’s online casino and poker sites had been market leaders in the New Jersey online gambling market from launch until the end of last year.
Online poker giant PokerStars entered the New Jersey online poker market in the Spring of 2016. It immediately took over the market share lead.
At the end of 2016, after ramping up its offering to include the most games on the market and one of the largest available first-time deposit bonuses, Golden Nugget’s online casino surpassed Borgata as the market leader. It has continued to set a blistering revenue pace in the first half of 2017.
