It was a solid week across the board for New Jersey’s online poker operators. Online cash game traffic rose at the three major networks, while peak traffic numbers rose industry-wide.

It was also a good week for tournaments, as all three networks bested their guarantees in their signature Sunday tournaments.

Here’s US Poker’s weekly look back at the cash game and tournament trends in the New Jersey online poker market.

During the week of November 1-7, New Jersey online poker sites averaged 250 cash game players. That represents an eight percent jump compared to last week.

Peak traffic numbers jumped to 680 over the last seven days, the first movement on this front in four weeks.

Cash Game traffic trends

After several weeks of jockeying for the number two spot between partypoker and 888poker, the three major networks seem to have settled into a groove, with PokerStars leading the way, 888poker in second, and partypoker in third.

New Jersey Tournament Report: A look at the Sunday Majors

Three of the four online poker networks host a signature Sunday tournament:

  • The Borgata/partypoker/MGM online poker network offers a $40,000 guarantee tournament. The tournament has a $215 buy-in.
  • The WSOP.com and 888poker network also host a $215 buy-in, $40,000 guaranteed tournament that it’s dubbed, “The Warrior.”
  • PokerStars NJ hosts the Sunday Special, a $200 buy-in with a guarantee of $45,000.

*Pala Poker is in beta-testing and doesn’t offer a signature Sunday tournament at this time.

The two largest tournaments at Pala, each boasting a $10 buy-in and $250 guarantee, have been consistently drawing 15-20 players, which means these tournaments are still overlaying $75-$100.

NJ Online Poker Results for November 5, 2017

It was a very strong week for New Jersey online poker operators. All three operators easily eclipsed their guarantees.

partypoker might bring up in the rear in terms of cash game traffic, but the site is more than holding its own on the tournament front and should be giving serious consideration to increasing its guarantee to $45,000.
