PartyPoker NJ Now Running Satellites To WPT500 $2mm Guaranteed In Las Vegas

Players in New Jersey will be able to qualify for July’s $2 million guaranteed WPT500 at Aria in Las Vegas via PartyPoker, which is the presenting sponsor of the event.

The World Poker Tour-backed tournament scheduled for this summer features a buy-in of $565. It is the second straight year that the WPT will host the tournament in Vegas, but this year, the guaranteed prize pool has been doubled.

How to get in

Players at PartyPoker NJ can win a $1,600 prize package for the tournament, which includes:

  • Tournament entry
  • Hotel accommodation at Aria from July 2-6
  • $750 in travel money to get to Las Vegas

Players can qualify for the event through both sit-and-go tournaments and scheduled multi-table tournaments.

The sit-and-go’s are run on a steps system, starting for as little as 10 loyalty points:

  • WPT Step 0: Enter for 10 loyalty points; winner receives step 1 ticket
  • WPT Step 1: Enter for $1 or with ticket; winner receives step 2 ticket
  • WPT Step 2: Enter for $5 or with ticket; winner receives step 3 ticket
  • WPT Step 3: Enter for $20 or with ticket; winner receives step 4 ticket
  • WPT Step 4: Enter for $100 or with ticket. There are two different SnGs; one awards just a WPT500 seat, the other awards the full $1,600 package

Every Sunday through June 21, PartyPoker NJ will host an MTT satellite with at least one WPT500 package guaranteed. The weekly qualifier takes place at 6:45 p.m. and can be entered with a cash buy-in of $100 or a step 4 ticket.

Players can also qualify for that Sunday qualifier through a step system:

  • WPT Step 1: Enter for $1 or with ticket; daily at noon, 2:15, 3:50 and 6:45; one step 3 ticket is guaranteed
  • WPT Step 2: Enter for $5 or with ticket; daily at 6:15 and 7:15; two step 3 tickets are guaranteed
  • WPT Step 3: Enter for $20 or with ticket; daily at 8:05 and 9:45; two step 4 tickets are guarateed

The target tournament

For the actual WPT500 in Las Vegas, there are actually ten different starting flights, with the first scheduled for May 31, and the last slated for July 5. The hotel accommodations provided by the PartyPoker prize package are aimed at allowing players to enter any of the last four starting flights.

The official “second day” of the tournament combines the entire remaining field from the various starting flights on July 5. The final table takes place on July 6.

Here is the full schedule:

  • Day 1A, Sunday, May 31, noon
  • Day 1B, Monday, June 1, noon
  • Day 1C, Tuesday, June 2, noon
  • Day 1D, Saturday, June 6, noon
  • Day 1E, Sunday, June 7, noon
  • Day 1F, Monday, June 8, noon

Players are also allowed to make one re-entry on each starting day. Players can also enter multiple starting flights, and then carry their largest starting stack to day 2.

For the second straight year, the WPT500 will go up against the World Series of Poker, although the timing should work out well for the majority of players.

The first of three starting flights for the $10,000 WSOP Main Event will take place on July 5. A $777 buy-in bracelet event starts on July 3.

Also at Aria during the WPT500 will be the Super High Roller Bowl, a $500,000 buy-in event taking place July 2-4.
