PokerStars Brings Back Pennsyl-MANIA, New Jersey/Michigan Classics In October, $700,000 Guaranteed
Fresh off the Championship of Online Poker Series (COOP) running in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, PokerStars is back with some other big events in each state.
October brings the return of Pennsyl-MANIA and the New Jersey and Michigan Classics. All three tournaments are set for Oct. 24 and feature a $300 buy-in. Players will find combined guaranteed prize pools of $700,000 for events in the three states.
Big guarantees for one-day events
The three events build on the COOP series and again offer players a big tournament running concurrently in each state. Here’s a look at all three guarantees:
- Pennsyl-MANIA – $350,000
- Michigan Classic – $250,000
- New Jersey Classic – $100,000
All three states remain “ringed-in” poker markets, meaning players can only compete with others within each state. Satellites are already underway for all three events and start at just $15.
Additionally, players can also qualify for seats through $3 Spin & Go’s after depositing $30. Spin & Go winners earn entry to a depositor freeroll on Oct 24, awarding $15,000 in tickets.

COOP series scores well
The three events follow September’s COOP series in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Michigan. The series promised guarantees of $4.5 million across all three states.
However, the payouts went well above that with a combined $5.27 million awarded to players. In PA, players won $2.4 million with Hondoribbia winning the main event for $36,401 and earning the championship trophy.
The main event produced a series-high prize pool of more than $238,000. The entire 69-event PACOOP attracted more than 25,000 entries.
Six other PACOOP players won trophy events including 161joe161, JesusTrackTeamC, TheBigSlick74, MasterOf0ne, LetMeWin3437, and SDotRog.
Several players scored multiple titles including two-time winners anachronismKB, Blivot, dubbadell, fubadbeatbob, and FuglyFunGuy. Superdonkeydave and TheBigSlick74 each won three.
PokerStars PA ambassador Mark “NaigoPA” Foresta made four tables with one runner-up finish. Keith “whoopsboom” Becker also took third in an event.
More players score big
In Michigan, the MICOOP paid out $1.8 million with WadeDavenport winning the main event for $31,000. That tournament produced a $176,960 prize pool and the series attracted over 18,000 entries in 68 events.
WadeDavenport also claimed a MICOOP championship trophy along with Pillzebub, PimpMyBalance, TWOsl0w4u, and Meatballs9000. Corgasm231 won two MICOOP trophies and a total of three events altogether. BishPlz94 also scored a trifecta of tournament wins.
Trophy winner Meatballs9000 won four events, including the last two of the series. 1WINATATIME, 248donkey, atokorekt, ChipzNCheeze, grandma1967, PowerRanges, and WadeDavenport each won two titles.
In New Jersey, COOP events attracted almost 10,600 entries with prize pools reaching just over $1.1 million. Sri100k won the main event for $18,600 and a NJCOOP trophy.
Other trophy winners included monkeyman067, kyleorto86, Stonniepokes, MisAnnthr0pe, ISlowRollYou, and wxg1989.
