PokerStars Adds Five New ‘Festival’ Stops Around The Globe For 2017

PokerStars announced it would take the European Poker Tour global in October. It would do that by consolidating its myriad regional poker tours under the singular umbrella of PokerStars Championship and PokerStars Festival events. Ever since, more and more information has been trickling out.

A month after the initial announcement, PokerStars offered the poker world its first look at the 2017 PokerStars Festival and PokerStars Championship schedule. At the time, only seven total stops were revealed, which meant the schedule was far from complete.

What we know about PokerStars live events

This week, PokerStars filled in some of the blanks, announcing five more Festival stops in South America, Europe and Asia.

The newly announced Festival stops are:

PokerStars Festival Marbella

In June, PokerStars will head back to Europe for the PokerStars Festival Marbella, in Marbella, Spain. The series will take place at the Casino Marbella from June 19-25. Marbella has been a stop on the PokerStars Estrellas tour for several years, and with its reputation as a beach resort, tournaments tend to attract plenty of poker players.

Interestingly, the Marbella stop will occur during the height of the 2017 World Series of Poker.

PokerStars Festival Marbella schedule highlights include:

  • €275 PokerStars Open, June 19-21
  • €1,100 PokerStars Festival Main Event, June 21-25
  • €2,200 PokerStars Festival High Roller, June 23-24
  • €330 Marbella Poker Cup, June 23-25
  • €170 Super Deepstack Turbo Estrellas Edition, June 25
  • €550 Sunday Hyperturbo, June 25

PokerStars Festival Korea

The first PokerStars Festival on the continent of Asia will take place July 14-24 in Incheon, South Korea. The series will be held at the recently opened Paradise City, Incheon complex, not far from the capital of Seoul.

The tournament schedule has yet to be ironed out. However, you can find more information about PokerStars Festival Korea here.

PokerStars Festival Manila

After the South Korea stop, PokerStars will move on to the Philippines, for the PokerStars Festival Manila.

Manila is a familiar stop on PokerStars’ tours, as the company has been hosting events in Manila since 2007. The Festival will unsurprisingly take place at PokerStars LIVE at City of Dreams Manila, one of several PokerStars-branded poker rooms around the globe. The series will run from July 28 to Aug. 7.

The schedule has yet to be finalized, but there will be cash games, as the PokerStars LIVE poker room boasts 14 cash game tables.
