PokerStars added another US Poker Pro to its Team PokerStars Pro roster this week. Ann Arbor, Michigan native Jeff Gross has signed up as the newest member of Team PokerStars Pro and will represent the PokerStars brand as he hopes to run deep in the World Series of Poker Main Event in Las Vegas, Nevada through the middle of July.

Growing the Jeff Gross brand

Gross is not exactly a household name in the world of poker. However, it is a growing one. Not only does Gross have more than $1 million in online tournament winnings and $2.9 million in live cashes, he enjoys a loyal following on his Twitch channel, where he has been streaming poker since 2015. In fact, Gross’ Poker Flow Show Twitch channel boasts 1.69 million views, 29,000 followers, and counting. The channel can be found at JeffGrossPoker on Twitch.

The popularity of Gross’ Twitch stream exploded in October of 2016 when he took part in a week-long 24/7 stream-a-thon raising money for Michael Phelps Charitable Foundation with Team PokerStars Online members Jamie Staples and Kevin Martin. Gross actually roomed with Olympic swimmer Phelps in the Baltimore, Maryland area for seven years.

Gross’ following on Twitch also increased with his participation in gas trading billionaire turned poker player Bill Perkins’ StreamBoat extravaganza. This effort saw Gross, Staples, and others stream live from aboard Perkins’ yacht sailing through the US Virgin Islands.

Throughout the 2017 WSOP, Gross has also been growing his following posting regular video blogs on YouTube and handling commentary duties for various WSOP events on the fledgling poker content subscription service PokerGo.

A passion for poker

Gross says he is passionate about poker, growing the game and bringing it to new audiences. In fact, he says he will continue to actively stream on Twitch as a PokerStars sponsored ambassador over the next year.

“We are delighted that Jeff has signed up to the team, joining Igor Kurganov as another top quality poker pro entering the ranks of Team PokerStars Pro this year,” PokerStars Director of Corporate Communications Eric Hollreiser said, “Jeff’s passion, enthusiasm, and poker credibility makes this is a great partnership.”

PokerStars Championship Barcelona

In addition to streaming from locations around the globe in the coming months, Gross is planning a trip to Barcelona, Spain in August for PokerStars Championship Barcelona.

PokerStars Championship Barcelona will run August 15 to 27, 2017 at Casino Barcelona. The massive schedule of live poker tournaments features a €1,100 PokerStars National Championship event with a €4,000,000 guaranteed prize pool running August 16 to 21 and the €5,300 PokerStars Championship Main Event running August 21 to 27, with a €7,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.
