PokerStars New Jersey Set To Go Live Next Month
On Thursday afternoon PokerStars announced it plans to launch in New Jersey on March 21, well ahead of the original timetable the site forecasted late last year when they announced the launch would occur in the first half of 2016, and later rumors placed the launch sometime in the fall.

In a press release, PokerStars parent company Amaya stated:
“Amaya Inc. (NASDAQ: AYA; TSX: AYA) today announced that it expects to initially launch its PokerStars brand in New Jersey on Monday, March 21, 2016. The launch quickly follows the September 2015 authorization by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (the “DGE”) to operate the PokerStars and Full Tilt brands in the State. Amaya currently expects to conduct an interim testing period with the DGE and a beta period for a limited player base beginning in mid-March.”
According to the press release the new domain name for PokerStars New Jersey site will be www.pokerstarsnj.com, and the platform will be available across desktop, tablet and mobile platforms. PokerStars also announced they will be bringing several of their popular global products, including the Sunday Special Tournament and Spin & Go’s, to the market.
Also of note, PokerStars will be launching a casino product in New Jersey: ” PokerStars will also offer customers an array of online casino games, including a wide selection of different Blackjack variants, as well as Roulette, Baccarat, Video Poker and Slots. Many games will also be available with multi-player tables.”

PokerStars is going to launch its New Jersey online poker site in style, as the company has already announced a $25,000 ‘We Are In New Jersey Freeroll’ tournament that will take place on March 27, 2016 at 17:00 ET.
The tournament will be open to any player who downloads the PokerStars New Jersey software in the week following the launch of PokerStars NJ.
