WSOP.com New Jersey’s May Promotions Offer Something For Everyone

The summer isn’t quite upon us, but that hasn’t stopped WSOP New Jersey from turning up the heat when it comes to its promotions.

Throughout the month of May, WSOP.com is offering players a veritable smorgasbord of promotions, ranging from prize packages to the upcoming World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, to Happy Hours and a low-limit tournament series for players who prefer to stay home and grind online from the Jersey Shore.

Here’s a look at the promotions currently available at WSOP.com New Jersey.

Win your way to Las Vegas for a colossal event

This weekend, WSOP.com New Jersey will be hosting a satellite tournament that will send at least 10 New Jersey online poker players to Nevada to compete in the Colossus II tournament.

In just its second year, the Colossus tournament is proving to be one of the highlights of the WSOP schedule, and could very well be the most fashionable event to play outside of the Main Event.

The number of entries in last year’s Colossus was over 22,000, and this time around the WSOP is has slapped a $7 million guarantee on the tournament, with the winner walking away with at least $1 million. I’m not a betting man, but I’d wager a lot of money the Colossus II will obliterate these guarantees.

The upcoming Colossus satellite tournament, dubbed Colossal X, takes place Sunday, May 15, at 3 p.m. on WSOP.com NJ.

In addition to the $565 buy-in, satellite winners will also receive $600 to help cover their travel expenses.

Status match for New Jersey transplants

New Jersey online poker players heading to the 2016 World Series of Poker can still get their online poker fix while they’re away from New Jersey, as WSOP.com has a sister site in Nevada.

Furthermore, New Jersey players will feel right at home if they decide to play online while out in Las Vegas. Although they’ll need to create a new account at WSOP.com Nevada, players won’t have to start from square one on the VIP ladder. WSOP.com has announced it will match players’ VIP status level from New Jersey.

According to WSOP.com, in order to receive a status match, “Simply send an email to [email protected] with your Wsop.com New Jersey & Nevada usernames.”

Happy hour four hours

From now until May 31, players at WSOP.com New Jersey will receive double Action Player Points at any cash game table they play from 7 p.m. – 11 p.m.

Players must opt-in (you can do that here) to be eligible to earn double APP’s.

More ways to qualify for the WSOP

The Colossus isn’t the only WSOP tournament for which WSOP.com is running satellites in New Jersey.

From now through early July, WSOP.com NJ hosts a satellite tournament to the WSOP Main Event every Sunday at 5 p.m.

The $200 buy-in satellite (smaller buy-in feeder satellites are also available if the $200 buy-in is a bit too steep for you) guarantees at least one $13,000 WSOP Main Event prize package. The package includes the $10,000 buy-in, $2,000 to cover travel expenses, and an entry into the WSOP online bracelet event that takes place on July 8 at WSOP.com Nevada, the day before the Main Event gets underway.

You’ll also find “step” satellite tournaments running around the clock, as well as $10 rebuy satellites every Sunday at 4:15 p.m., when you can score a prize-package of $1,000 worth of WSOP chips. The chips (AKA lammers) can be used to enter any WSOP event.
