May Promotions At WSOP Nevada Heavy On World Series of Poker Satellites

The poker world’s annual summer pilgrimage to Las Vegas is drawing near. In just a few weeks, the poker world will descend on the Rio for the 47th installment of the World Series of Poker.

This six-week period has become a boon for the many land-based poker rooms in Nevada and its legal online poker industry.

The biggest beneficiary is the WSOP.com Nevada online poker room, operated by Caesars. As the preeminent online poker site in Nevada, WSOP.com is able to capitalize on its branding, the increased interest among poker players in the run-up to the WSOP, and the influx of potential customers during the series.

Because of this, WSOP.com ramps up its promotions accordingly.

Here’s a look at the promotions players will find at WSOP.com Nevada throughout the month of May.

The Colossal XXII – Win a seat to the Colossus II

WSOP.com Nevada will host a super-satellite to one of the most anticipated tournaments on the 2016 WSOP schedule, the Colossus II.

The June 3 satellite (held at 5 p.m.) will award at least 22 seats for the $565 buy-in tournament that drew a record field of over 22,000 players at last year’s WSOP.

The cost of the Colossal XXII online satellite tournament is $22, a small price to pay for a shot at Colossus II’s $7 million in guaranteed prize money, including $1 million set aside for first place.

This year the Colossus II features six starting flights spread over three days — Thursday, June 2 through Saturday, June 4 — satellite winners will have to play in one of the two June 4 flights.

Additionally, WSOP.com is currently running $2 Mega Colossal feeder satellites every night at 6:15 p.m.

Top Up Turbo – Double your starting stack by playing online

One of the more intriguing tournaments on the WSOP schedule is Event #4, a $1,000 buy-in tournament dubbed Top Up Turbo. What makes this tournament so intriguing is the online component the WSOP has incorporated.

Here’s how it works:

Anyone who has cashed in a WSOP.com Sit & Go tournament between May 1 and June 4 will receive extra starting chips (double the starting stack) for Event #4, which makes playing online (and cashing in a Sit & Go tournament) crucial if you plan on playing the Turbo Top Up event at The Rio.

Bankroll Builders Series – A promotion for the low-limit player

During the week of May 15-21, WSOP.com Nevada will host three daily tournaments geared towards the low-limit player, called the Bankroll Builder Series. Every “Bankroll Builder” event will feature a maximum buy-in of $1.

Furthermore, the entire 21-event series boasts over $400 in guaranteed prize-money, and will have its own leaderboard, with prizes as follows:

  1. $200 tournament ticket
  2. (5) $10 tournament tickets
  3. (3) $10 tournament tickets
  4. (2) $10 tournament tickets
  5. $10 tournament ticket
  6. $10 tournament ticket
  7. $5 tournament ticket
