Worst For The First: Delaware Online Gambling Revenue Hits Record Low

The Delaware Internet Lottery posted its worst month ever in June.
The state’s regulated online casino and poker sites posted revenues of $108,692. That was down 19 percent against the previous month and 42 percent over the previous year.
Casino win was $78,016.
That was the lowest win posted by the Delaware Internet Lottery since January 2014. Blackjack and roulette held 1.7 percent. Slots and video poker held 3.7 percent.
Stagnant casino games partly to blame
The amount of bets made by bettors was down significantly against May and the previous year.
Casino handle dropped 52 percent over the previous month and 64 percent against 2014. Some of these losses may be due to the stale games offered by the Delaware Lottery.
Players will only find blackjack, roulette, one video poker title and about a dozen slots. None of the popular proprietary table games, video poker titles or slots are found on the three Delaware online casino sites.
DE online poker numbers also dismal in June
Online poker also posted disappointing numbers in June. The games raked just $30,675. That was down 22 percent from the previous month. It was up 20 percent over the previous year.
June 2014 was the worst month for online poker since its November 2013 launch.
That June online poker rake was the lowest monthly number since Delaware and Nevada pooled online poker liquidity in March.
This is especially disappointing considering the Nevada site experienced a bump in traffic due to the WSOP and the 2014 numbers were when Delaware hosted an intrastate site that peaked at about two dozen players daily.
Players created 301 new accounts at Delaware casino and poker sites in June. That was consistent with the numbers in previous months this year. The sites where Delaware players can create accounts are Delawarepark.com, Doverdowns.com and Harringtonraceway.com.
