March Poker Mania: Partypoker US Network Brings Some Big Names to Online Series With $1.3M Guaranteed

The partypoker US Network is adding some personality to the platform’s monthly series. Some big names are hosting the March Poker Mania series in New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.
The series runs March 20-27 with more than $1.3 million guaranteed among all three states. Online poker players have 19 events on the platter in each market with buy-ins ranging from $55 to $1,060.
The March Poker Mania series is hosted by Darren Elias (New Jersey), Matt Berkey (Pennsylvania), and Andrew Neeme (Michigan).
In New Jersey, players can get in the action on the party, BetMGM, and Borgata Poker skins. Players in Michigan have the BetMGM option and Pennsylvania players can check out MGM or Borgata Poker.
“We’re thrilled that March Poker Mania will feature three poker titans, offering BetMGM players multiple new touchpoints with our brand,” BetMGM director of poker Luke Staudenmaier said in a news release.
“It’s the first time that we’ve produced an online poker event in multiple states and with multiple hosts – simultaneously, and we’re excited to further connect our players and our brand with MGM properties across the country.”
Partypoker madness begins
Each of the three partypoker US Network states hosts its own independent monthly online series. This month’s series is now known as March Poker Mania.
All three markets listed above are “ringed-in” environments, meaning players only compete with others within that state. The three states will host similar schedules and events for March Mania, but individual event guarantees vary by state.
No Limit Hold’em will be the main game for this series with some Omaha events sprinkled in. The $1,060 Main Event in each state is set for March 27 with a $100,000 guarantee. Some other highlighted events include:
- $535 Eight-Max Warmup (Event 1, March 20) – $50,000 guaranteed (NJ); $40,000 (PA, MI)
- $109 Progressive Knockout (Event 2, March 20) – $35,000 guaranteed (NJ); $30,000 (PA, MI)

Heads-up championship brackets
It wouldn’t be March without some brackets. March Mania will include a $1,000 buy in Heads-Up Bracket Battle.
The event features 32 players in a tournament-style event. Partypoker is adding $10,000 in value for the champion.
A look at the series hosts
The series brings some heavy hitters to the series. In New Jersey, poker pro Darren Elias currently holds the record for most World Poker Tour wins with four. He also has the most final table appearances and cashes, and has over $9.4 million in live tournament earnings.

“As partypoker US Network continues to expand,” he told USPoker recently. “I’m excited to grow with them and bring accessible, championship-level online poker to players across the US.”
Elias is going to be making a live appearance in the Garden State as well. On March 25, he’ll also be playing in the $1,000 buy-in Borgata Spring Rebound Tournament.
Across the Delaware River, Pennsylvania players can play against host Matt Berkey during the Pennsylvania series. He’s looking forward to the 32-man Heads-Up tournament.
“The heads-up event is circled on my calendar,” he said. “It’s not a format I regularly play, but I love the idea of playing a March Madness-like shootout and the $10k added to first is a real sweetener to the event.”
The Pittsburgh native has over $4.3 million in live earnings. He’s currently ranked seventh on the all-time leaderboard for tournament players in the Keystone State. During the series he plans on live streaming cash games and handicapping college basketball on the Solve For Why YouTube channel.
The Michigan series will be hosted by pro Andrew Neeme. A well-known cash player, his YouTube poker vlog has become popular with players. Currently Neeme has over 174,000 subscribers.
Twitch streamers win big in February
Michigan player Greg “gabpoker” Brewer had a nice run in February’s Bounty Blitz series. He snagged two final table appearances. Brewer streams a lot of his MGM tournament action on his Twitch channel.

Brewer came up just short of a title in Event 8 after finishing runner-up to another Twitch streamer, Dan “DrDad1819” Schill. The winner streams on Twitch and has a new Youtube page as well.
