WSOP Online Bracelet Preview: Breathe Easy, New Jersey, You Can Play ’em All
Last week, we weren’t sure if New Jersey players would be able to play any more World Series of Poker (WSOP) online events after the one on the 9th. Well, we can say with complete certainty that New Jersey players can play the rest of the WSOP’s online events.
All along, the problem has been June 14. In the wake of its controversial opinion on the Wire Act, the US Department of Justice had identified that date as its enforcement deadline to stop almost all interstate gaming.
However, a new memorandum from the agency has eliminated June 14 as a concern. The Office of the Deputy Attorney General, citing a recent court loss in New Hampshire, pushed the deadline back to Dec. 31.
So, at least for this year, New Jersey players can play without concern. WSOP Vice President of Communications Seth Palansky confirmed as much in an email to USPoker.
“We expect all to be smooth for the remaining seven online WSOP gold bracelet events between now and July 14 for New Jersey players,” Palansky wrote. “We hope to keep shared liquidity between Nevada and New Jersey open forever, but of course will always follow the state regulations and applicable laws.”
In other words, game on, New Jersey. Let’s look at what this week’s event will offer.

Event #38: $600 WSOP.com Online No-Limit Hold’em Knockout Bounty
This weekend, dozens of countries will celebrate Father’s Day. So, it’s fitting that Dad gets a doozy of a tournament on Sunday.
This week’s online bracelet is a no-limit hold’em event, so everybody will know how to play. However, since it’s a bounty tournament, there’s more than one way to profit.
Every time a player eliminates another, the winning player will receive $100. So, in theory, a player could have a very good Sunday and not even sniff the final table.
Of course, final tablists usually don’t arrive there without collecting a few scalps along the way. Still, bounty tournaments can be a saving grace for players who run into a brick wall, be it through a bad beat, a cooler, or going card dead.
This week’s event is a bit snappier than the previous week’s. Blind levels are only 15 minutes long, so be aware and condense your decision-making.
As is the case with these events, there are several satellites available for players who don’t want to pay the full buy-in. They are:
- $600 WSOP Online Bracelet KO Seat Satellite – June 14
- $15 buy-in
- Rebuy & add-on
