Qualifying Quest: Here’s How to Win a 2022 World Series of Poker Seat Online Via Satellite

The 2022 World Series of Poker $10,000 Main Event returns to Las Vegas on July 3. This year the festival takes place at the Paris and Bally’s convention center.

A big buy-in for the Main Event may be out of reach for some players, but WSOP.com and GGPoker are offering satellites for a chance to get into the game.

“My goal this year is to play the Main Event,” says Peter Labrie, a poker player from New Jersey. “If I can win a satellite into the event that would be even better.”

The Main Event is the standout event in the industry and will be a satellite target for many. Players may also be looking to qualify for other events as well. Here’s a guide looking at how to qualify into the annual series.

WSOP Main Event details

Players winning a Main Event seat online can choose one of four starting flights to play in this year. Registration is open until July 6 and here’s a look at the starting days for the tournament:

  • 1A – Sunday, July 3
  • 1B – Monday, July 4
  • 1C – Tuesday, July 5
  • 1D – Wednesday, July 6

New Jersey, Nevada player satellites

In the US, WSOP.com started giving away seats for the Main Event in February. The site runs a $215 satellite each Sunday at 7:30 pm (ET) for players in Nevada and New Jersey.

According to WSOP.com, winning players can claim their Main Event buy-in in any starting flight they choose. To claim their buy-in chips, players must have a valid government-issued photo ID and a Caesars Rewards card.

Any buy-in chips unclaimed by the end of late registration on the last day open for registration will be forfeited. At this time WSOP does not have a mask or vaccine mandate for players.

WSOP.com is also expected to offer numerous satellite events for other major tournaments as well. Also look for qualifiers for the series online bracelet events this summer.

Pennsylvania players get WSOP chances for Main Event seats

The action continues this week at the WSOP. Some major names scored big over the last week and Phil Hellmuth heads to a third final table Monday. The WSOP online platform launched last July in the Keystone State. The site is currently separate from the shared liquidity in New Jersey or Nevada.

However, the site is offering a weekly chance to get into the Main Event. Players located in Pennsylvania have a chance each Sunday at 6:30 pm to win a $10,000 Main Event seat. The WSOP.com PA satellites come with a $215 buy-in and the events guarantee one seat each week.

While there hasn’t been an announcement, it seems likely the platform may offer satellites for other WSOP events as well. That also includes the Pennsylvania online bracelet events.

Upcoming scramble announcement

Each year, players in Nevada and New Jersey also offer 25-seat scrambles for the Main Event. These $215 mega-scramble giveaways usually run a few days before the tournament gets underway.

WSOP officials have said an announcement on those events will come in early April. Stay tuned to USPoker for further information.

GGPoker has plans for WSOP seats

For international players, GGPoker is the official partner for WSOP satellites. GG officials will announce satellite plans in April.

The company plans a wide range of satellite buy-in price points. Winner packages are expected to include::

  • $10,000 Main Event entry
  • Las Vegas hotel accommodations
  • Cash winnings for spending money
  • Exclusive GGPoker player party
  • GGPoker lounge access

USPoker will offer updates as more WSOP satellite information becomes available.
