Hooters Las Vegas Poker Room Shuttered
Hooters Casino in Las Vegas closed its poker room permanently early Sunday morning, March 1. It became the second Las Vegas poker room to close this year and continues the consolidation trend in the market.
The two-table poker room opened at 2pm daily and was often idle. The only game spread at the Hooters poker room was $1/$2 No Limit Texas Hold’em. Tournaments were not offered.
The jackpot funds were distributed during the month of February. The poker room at Hooters gave away $100 high hands every hour from 6pm to 6am daily. The minimum winning hand was an ace high flush. The minimum qualifying hand was eliminated the last night to ensure that the entire $1,200 remaining in the prize pool was paid out before the room closed permanently.
The Hooters poker room was located in the rear of the casino by the parking garage. It was a comfortable room that offered a bar-top table for players waiting for a seat or game. The poker room area was enclosed to keep smoke and casino noise out.
Hooters joins a growing list of Las Vegas casinos that decided to remove poker from its gaming options.
